From IC to Leader - help!

I've just received notice that headcount was approved to fully hand off my IC duties (I support two regions in my current role + manage a small team of two) and I'm feeling insecure about what it will look like to not be responsible for specific regions and instead just be a "people leader".

I realize the "value" contributions are shifting from output to managing, but I'm feeling like I don't know what that looks like.

Advice on how you've made the transition? What to focus on? How to "show value" when I'm not necessarily outputting?

What else to think about? I think it's this rough economy that has me worried I'll be seen as redundant without contributing...
