Resources for a first time/part time manager?

I just got a promotion at work, and I’ve been assigned to supervise a teammate for the first time for a particular project. She’s not my direct report, but I will be her supervisor for this. I’ll have to navigate her having her regular manager and not full visibility of her workload, and I really want to start with the right foot. Does anyone have recommendations or resources I should look at?

You might want to ask your own boss why you were given a promotion over just one person. Are they putting you on a management track? Does your boss just not want to manage this other person?

Having one person shoved in between her and her previous boss will look suspicious to her. I'd suggest treading lightly.
