Why is it so difficult to secure a job in the software industry?

Why is it so difficult to secure a job in the software industry? Despite having 3 years of experience as a QA Tester at Capgemini, I am struggling to find a job in Dubai. It feels like hiring authorities prioritize candidates from their personal networks, such as friends and family, while giving less attention to online applicants. I really wish I had someone here to recommend me.

I think you have answered your own question. Networks are how a lot of people get into companies, get interviews all over the world especially when the job market gets tough. I would suggest you start building your network. Talk to people you have worked with and see if they know of anyone hiring. I would suggest you look at a career coach to help you find something.

Agree about networking! Put yourself out there and go to tech mixers and events (virtual and in person). Most of this stuff is free too.

Breaking into the software industry can feel overwhelming, even for highly skilled developers. The rapid pace of technological change means companies expect more than just coding skills—they want adaptability, system-level thinking, and real-world experience. It's not just about writing code; it’s about building intelligent, efficient systems that actually solve problems. That's why teams like those at Embrox are so valuable. Their work in embedded development shows how deep expertise, combined with innovation, can truly shape the future of tech. You can explore their approach through this link

Securing a job in the software industry can be particularly challenging for a few reasons. First, there's intense competition, with many highly qualified candidates vying for a limited number of positions. Employers often look for candidates who not only have the right technical skills but also the ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies. This requires continuous learning and staying updated with new tools and frameworks. Furthermore, the rise of specialized solutions, like the one from soft2bet demonstrates how niche expertise is becoming more valuable. As companies adopt more sophisticated technologies, the demand for professionals with expertise in cloud solutions and scalability increases. For example, soft2bet leveraged AWS to optimize their platform’s performance and scale efficiently. This highlights the industry's shift toward more complex, high-performance solutions, making it harder to break into the field unless you have both the right skills and experience.
