You'll want to look at your agreement with the agency.

Hi, I've worked a lot of contract to hire positions. Do not disclose to the agency that you will be promoting them or paying more. You will definitely need to fulfill the terms of your contract, which includes the original buyout fee based on the rate of pay quoted in the agreement. After the contract is complete, what you do is your business.

If you inform the agency of the increase in pay, most contracts will require a greater buyout fee. Definitely read the terms carefully and follow them to the letter.

check your contract! I try and anticipate every possible situation when working with an agency and negotiate the fees before I bring someone on. it is likely that you will need to pay something, unless you negotiated a time/hours based no fee milestone in the agreement.

In all likelihood yes because the reason you are familiar with this person is due to the agency placing them with your company.

No one on this board can answer this question for you, get real! As others have said, read your contract. How on earth could a complete stranger tell you what you're contractually bound to with this agency?

As a former recruiter, that is a nice offer. You will probably need to pay a fee, but it is far cheaper to pay the fee than to spend person-hours looking for the next gem. Contact the firm you are working with and see what the agreement is. There may be a clause you cannot make an offer unless you buy them out. There should be some conversion fee, but pay it, it's worth it!

Read your contract and talk to the agency.

That's good, maybe ask for this even is not in the contract. If you are asking good client, they may want to give up now to get more in the end. Hope it works out for all.

Probably yes. Agencies usually have this covered in their contracts, unless you negotiated something different. Always know your contracts!
