Before an interview, I check my Teams or Zoom setting but every time, I have an issue after clicking the link. From my perspective, my camera is working, sound is set and I arrive early to make sure there isn't an unforeseen update. When the interview is about to begin, the interviewer signs on and there's always a problem. It sets the interview off on the wrong foot and I find myself scattered despite my preparation. Is anyone facing this issue? For Teams, my camera isn't working although it's on according to my setting. For Zoom, it's not being able to connect to the meeting or waiting for the interviewer to arrive only to realize we're not connected and having to reboot my computer after they join.

I would take your computer and have an IT person check it for updates. I had this happen for several work related meetings and our IT folks just reset me with the latest Microsoft update. It appears you can get into these systems, but sometimes there are things running in the background you can't see. Sort of like updating your cell phone. Notice apps sometimes are sort of working but not? Same mindset.

Yea, that's a system issue, take it to a professional and make sure your connectivity is good. Any updates, on my personal accounts for these, I always get alerted.

Many companies have security software that interferes with their communication with people outside their firewalls. Having your computer checked out or "scrubbed/updated" by an IT professional or repair shop could help. I've run into this a few times, but not every time.

It's also good about 30 minutes before the interview to close out everything and reboot then only open what you need so nothing running in the background would interfere with your meeting.

OP: Thank you all and I appreciated your advice!

Have you rebooted your machine? If you have not then that could be part of the problem here. Usually when doing an update (yes the darned zoom ones seem to be constant) you need to do this for sure. You can also use your phone and set up a 10 minute call with your own phone prior to these meetings and test it end to end.

there are periodic updates for both Teams and Zoom, so I would make sure that both hvae the most recent updates (which is free, ofcourse). Good luck!
