New ownership meet-and-greet.

New ownership meet-and-greet.

The company I work for was recently acquired by a firm on the other side of the country. Our new leadership is coming to the office for an informal meet and greet. Assuming I'll have just a few minutes to introduce myself, how would take advantage of the time? (I am a mid level employee with 5 years employment)

Make sure you practice your intro ahead of time to feel really confident about it! Here is a tired and true structure you can use: "Hi everyone, it's great to meet you. My name is [full name]. I'm a [title] an have been with the company for [number of years]. My major responsibilities are [list main responsibilities] with the main focus of [state main impact of your work]. I really enjoy [talk about a few things you love doing that highlight your personality and main skills] and I look forward to getting to know al of you.

Practice speaking through this slowly (don't rush through your name! I suggest even pausing slightly after you say it for that it's really heard) and don't try to learn it by heart--keep it conversational in style and think about how describing yourself effectively will ultimately help them work with you best. Good luck!!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

No contract, I think everyone is worried about their job. Thank you for your insight.
