Seeking professional opinions regarding sending a Thank You email, from your work email account, when interviewing for an internal position, but one that is in a different department than your current one. Would this be appropriate, or should it be sent from a personal email account instead?

Thank you in advance!

Hello: It should be fine since it is an internal position and normally you manager is not able to access your work email. Your manager may hear about the job move intent from the other manager or interview team anyways.

I would think that would be an advantage since you come with a special understanding of the company, the culture and a history of success which gives you an edge. You email address signals you are already a member of the broader team.

It depends. Your company always has access to see exactly what you're doing on your work computer, including emails. If it were me, I'd send it from my personal email address as your work address is tied to your current role. And your resume should have your personal email address on it.
