    You have to run proper background checks. Select a company who can do this for you. Some can do same day but usually it takes a day. Make sure that you are having candidates sign a release form to conduct the background checks first though; that’s key as well.

    I would suggest using a company that does background checks - I happen to like a company called Karmacheck (pay as you go and relatively inexpensive - under $10 a background check) I don't know if they can run same-day checks.
