I applied for a job one week ago. How long would you wait to contact Human Resouces to make sure your resume was received? One week or two weeks?

    Within a week. Pleasant persistence!

    One week, good luck!

One week to check in and get some idea of where you are in their process.

I like what the other person said, pleasant persistence. Pleasant, and patient persistence. Two weeks I feel like it's too long, but one week shows that you are still interested and invested, but also not too pushy. Squeaky wheel does get the grease...I was told that once with a position I really wanted and ended up going for in a way that I normally don't, and I ended up getting it!

Lots of great advice. 2 weeks to earn a paycheck, but when will the money actually payout. My previous and current company pays only once a month. You could be waiting for awhile on that money.

You do mean Talent Acquisition? Human Resources is a different function. If you applied to a larger company via their ATS (applicant tracking system) you should have gotten an email confirming it's receipt. If you mailed a physical copy of the resume a phone call to the company might be appropriate. Generally online applications are received and confirmed but if you have gotten nothing a call to their main phone line might be okay within the first week of sending. Waiting 2 weeks might mean you are further down the pile. Good luck in your search.
