Many people advise following up after an interview. I rarely do so (aside from thank you notes) because I have always found that if managers and recruiters want or need anything from you (e.g. job offer or scheduling a second interview), they will let you know. They have not forgotten you. If I don't hear anything, my assumption is a. I didn't get the job or b. I may be under consideration, but I am not the top choice. Other than showing interest or providing closure, is there any other reason to follow-up? I kind of understand following up if you have an offer and you have a reasonable expectation that there may be another offer coming your way. Does anyone in the FGB have a follow-up success story or feel they wouldn't have gotten a particular job if they hadn't followed up?
