My car broke down.

My car broke down. I lost my job. I'm in a new place with no family. And I have a three year old. I'm at my lowest. I'm all prayed out. I've tried to help others when they needed me in hopes if I ever needed help, God would see my good works and reach out and save me?! I'll be in a homeless shelter soon. I just want to scream. Any advice??

I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this! Have you tried temp agencies? That might bring in some money rather quickly and give you the flexibility to continue interviewing for new opportunities. Praying for you!

Thank you and God bless. No really thankful that you took time out to respond.

Can you look for any programs that give cars to people in need? A couple local vocational schools fix up vehicles and give to people in need of transportation? You need to reach out and let others know you are having problems - God will help but others need to know too. Temp agencies or local state agencies for employment might be able to get you headed in the right direction too.

Yes ma'am two temps. And countless apps. And it seems that every dang list for church's and non profits are so long I'll have a job and be retired by the time they can help. I hate asking for help but I've swallowed my pride. For my kid.

Don’t lose hope Danielle, try and get a bridge job to keep some cash flow. Do you have any investments you can draw down on? I have been out of work since the fall from a position which paid 6 figures, just living off savings bcs I was always cheap. It is very demoralizing and I felt like I lost my identity Wishing the best for you.

Demoralizing is the word. I'm made a lot of bad choices. It was like I was in a fog and at 41 I see what I should have done. Thank you so much for caring. I do have a business idea actually two. A tee shirt company and a housekeeping business that helps single mothers when they are down and out. Kinda a family's helping other families. Called CareinCleaning. Thought it would be inspiring and cleaning with purpose kinda thing but with no car..idk.

Leary to bring religion to the platform, BUT and this is NOT up for judgement or discussion, God doesn't reward on works, there I said it. My post response, keep scrolling. Keep seeking God through this, it's hard, I get it, keep leaning in. Yes, you may end up in a shelter but that's just a part of your journey's story. This isn't coming from a place where life has always been comfortable. Scream, if you need to, plead that your heart is shattering more and more, but don't give up.

Hi Danielle. I'm truly sorry for all you're facing. It's difficult to face challenges alone. I know as I've been doing it for the better part of my life.

Like others, I'm hesitant to speak religion as I don't want to be judged or offend. Having said that however - I do believe God is with you. And I agree with another who said God does't reward on works.

The job market, despite everything the media keeps saying, is horrible right now. Her are some ideas:

    1. Do you have a skill you could teach others? Perhaps try online tutoring.
    2. Check out the various freelance work sites like UPwork, Fiverr, Guru, and Freelancer.com.
    3. Contact your local Dept of Human services. Or someone like Catholic Charities. They offer assistance with rent or mortgage.

I know it's easy for me to say this - but please don't give up. He has a plan for you and He'll see you through it.

  9. Danielle Evans

Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate you. And I will call Catholic charities.

Thank you for the advice. And things are actually looking up. Got an interview tomorrow and a temp job making 20$ an hr. I've always been embarrassed to start a go fund me. Pride. Thank you so much

Ugh, my car broke down yesterday in the middle of traffic—honestly, one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had in a while. I had just finished work and was ready to head home when the engine light came on and the car just lost power. Had to get it towed and now I’m stuck waiting to hear what the mechanic says. The worst part is, I bought this car not too long ago and thought it was in great condition. Makes me wonder if there were any hidden issues the seller didn’t mention. Next time, I’m definitely checking the full vehicle history before buying. I just found this tool that lets you get a detailed report using a VIN number—super helpful for avoiding surprises like this in the future: https://cleanautohistory.com/en/product/stat-vin Definitely worth using before you commit to any used car.

A car is a vehicle designed to transport people and goods efficiently on roads. It offers freedom of movement, convenience, and comfort, making daily travel easier and faster. When considering the condition of a vehicle, one might wonder if it meets all necessary safety and legal requirements, so there’s a chance to ask whether is my car mot  up to date. Regular maintenance can improve performance and prevent unexpected issues, and sometimes small problems can create opportunities to enhance the overall driving experience.

I'm so sorry you're going through such a tough streak, but please hang in there. When my vehicle gave up, I actually ended up using https://www.autobidmaster.com/en/copart-broker/minnesota/ to find a budget-friendly replacement through local auctions without burning through my savings. Sending you so much strength, you will get through this rough patch!
