Be very careful. Vet the company thoroughly before sharing personal information, especially banking. Treat this like any interview and verify 1) that the company exists and has a presence where it says it does and 2) that the emails come from that company's email domain. Have they disclosed that they are an Australian-based company (see Megan's post below) and how they handle international employees?
I don't trust any job offers from an email from a company I have never heard of or for something without an attached job description. Of the ones I have researched, 100% have been scams. If they don't pass the email domain test, they go immediately in the trash. They go in the trash if they don't meet my career objectives on at least four points. That has left only one that was not an offer but an "Invitation to apply." After some serious research, because it came as a message through a job board, not a direct email, I confirmed the opportunity and the company and was highly qualified. I didn't get the position, as they went for an internal candidate and would have had to move me across the country (it was for a CEO position). Anything I have received for lower-level positions through any communication method has all been fishing/phishing expeditions to see how many will "bite."
