My scheduling mistake ruined my chance at a promotion
I recently slept through an important client call after I thought I had scheduled it for the next day! As I'm all for transparency, I told my boss the truth and said I overslept. While I was able to reschedule the call and I'm preparing even more for it, my boss was really disappointed in me and hasn't been acting the same toward me.
Before this mistake, my boss was always advocating for me and spoke to me often about my next steps at the company. Now, our meetings are just progress reports and I don't get as much positive feedback. How can I right my wrong and prove I'm still worthy of a promotion?
