It's everywhere in every market. Just follow the posts here. Every other post discusses the struggle of finding a new opportunity.

Yep, that’s what I’ve been noticing! I’m just in shock when I see people with 10+ years of experience that are struggling to find something.

I used to think that older people were the only ones having a hard time but everyone at every age is having a hard time. No jobs are being created and companies are cutting back because people are not buying stuff due to inflation.

This may be the time to find some outside help, if you haven't already-- a mentor or career coach can help you to streamline your search and support your process. If you have been applying without receiving interviews, I would look at your resume first, optimizing it for Applicant Tracking Systems. Check out JobScan or ResumeWorded for tips and feedback!

You and fifty million other people. This is the worst job market I've ever seen and I've been working for decades.

Seriously! I don’t know what’s going on, companies are so quick to throw out your application, the interview process is sometimes lengthy and ridiculous especially for even just a minimum wage job. It’s mentally taxing, I’m currently working a dead end job and I just want to level up but the job market sucks.

Stay where you are for now. The market is glutted--even small side jobs are hard to get and if you want a remote job forget about it.

I've been looking for a job since December and haven't found anything yet. I'm seeing jobs I've previously applied to being posted over and over again. I'm even applying for jobs where I know I'm overqualified, but nothing. It's so frustrating.

This! Ive been having the same issue, and for a while I thought it was just me until I started talking to other people going through the same thing. I’ve applied to jobs on requiring a high school diploma and still my application gets thrown out.

Me too. I have a solid background in biz ops and haven't landed 1 interview in 5 months.

Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear that. The job market is seriously tough, I’ve heard of people with a plethora of experience and education and still can’t land a job. I’m hoping you find something within a month! I know how draining it can be

The best solution is to go on Craigslist. You will have small business owners who need extra hands, who might pay you 1099 or even daily. They are busy, they need help, and they just need you to take the calls, eneter the data, etc.

Thank you for your response! I would’ve never thought about looking on Craigslist for a job but, I will check it out now. Thank you again!

I hope things turn around soon! In the meantime:

    1. How broadly are you expanding your scope of employers? For instance, if you work in project management, you should be able to work in anything from healthcare to manufacturing to technology. It's a strong lateral in your skills are applicable across the board. It's a matter of how you package and talk about them.

    2. How diverse is your approach to job search? LinkedIn is good for everything but job searching! Make sure you are using Google, indeed, and many others to find hidden jobs.

    3. If you are using linkedin, be sure to track recruiters and others who regularly repost and highlight job openings.

    4. Are you considering contract to hire positions? Even if it's just plain contracting, it will get you experience and close the gaps on your resume until you land your next best role! Good luck!

yes. and I do believe that when they realize how old I am, they put my resume in the trash. I have good experience and skills and would like to think some value. However, right now I am not so sure :( .
