Finding balance in a world driven by digital innovation can feel challenging, especially when the tools we rely on—like AI and automation—often push us to move faster and faster.
In my latest Tuesday Tea with V newsletter, I reflect on how analog habits, such as journaling, can be a powerful antidote to the rapid pace of technology. For me, journaling has been an anchor, offering a space for clarity and focus amidst the noise.
This shift was inspired by Blakely Thornton’s Instagram reel, which introduced me to the One Line a Day journal by Pendleton Woolen Mills. Months after seeing the reel, I bought for the holidays to start 2025, and it’s been an invaluable addition to my daily routine so far.
I also revisit a powerful reminder from a recent Harvard Business Review management tip about the importance of writing skills. Whether it's for emails, social media posts, or personal journaling, writing remains a timeless and essential tool for communication.
The HBR tip encourages us to:
✪ Define the purpose of our writing.
✪ Speak directly to our audience.
✪ Get to the point quickly and clearly.
For women in the Fairygodboss community navigating career transitions or reimagining their professional paths, strengthening your writing can be a meaningful way to connect, reflect, and prepare for what’s next.
I’d love to hear from you: Do you practice journaling or have other ways to stay grounded and sharpen your skills? You can also check out my newsletter for more thoughts on this topic: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/from-digital-milestones-analog-resolutions-vanessa-lontoc-mba-zhfke/
