a little advice for a young entrepreneur !

I have chosen the path of working as an Event Planner but I need a head start somewhere, some work experience to add to my resume. Do you know banquet Halls where weddings and big celebrations take place? Well, I thought I should personally reach out to the owner and talk to them about my work and if he /she could hire me as an assistant. I am not able to think of any good way to put them in front of them, Can someone advice me on that please?

Chances are not good that they will want to train possible competition. Your plan may require that you simply take a job as an events coordinator assistant without talking about wanting to go into the business. So, fine tune your resume and start looking for job listings or network and send it out.

As an experienced global events director, based on your location in Delhi, in addition to banquet halls, I would suggest starting out at an established hotel, where corporate events and weddings also take place. They usually have good training programs and growth opportunities for promotion as you gain more experience. Look under the categories of catering assistant or event coordinator under the banquets department or even sales & marketing. Hope this helps and good luck :-)
