Happy Friday everyone!

Happy Friday everyone!

So, this question was posed to me by a mentor quite some time ago when I first started out my career and it truly was an eye opener. Curious to see what you all would say or do!

If you knew...that you could not fail...what would you do?

My response at the time was...run my own successful business and be a real estate investor and philanthropist.

Run a combination comic book store and tea/coffee/bake shop. I'd host book events and tea tastings. Maybe do high tea type events once in a while. My husband would run the Comic side of the business with art classes and events.

LOVE IT!!! So what would you do if you didn't have to work and you couldn't fail?

This is AWESOME!!! I think we would all join you on these. As for the 40hrs/wk role, with a teaching background...it's doable. There are quite a few roles that have direct transferable skills in corporate i.e. Training & Development or you could stay in Education and do some online teaching as an adjunct or professor.

If I had financial security, health insurance and a guarantee of success, I would have started my own business long before I actually did. It was just too scary when I was carrying a mortgage and insurance and car payment and so on by myself.

    Same here!

    Travel.

Be an accountant on a cruise- ie work for cruise line and responsible for financials of ship. Some cruise lines have lead accountant residing on ship.
No rent, no car, seeing different places AND having a corporate role.

I see it as no rent, no car or insurance and weekend cruises. Only downside is having a roommate- been single 16y and no plans to change that (abusive marriage)

I'm sure there's some downfall, but not too many. Nothing is perfect

I'd wait to do this AFTER my aging parents have passed. I want to help them first.

I may be one of few, but this is how I live. I truly don't feel like I work. I love coaching people!

I also love pursuing hobbies that are new to me that I don't know how to do and learn it from scratch. The feeling of knowing that I didn't know how to do something just a month ago to wherever I get to at the time I reflect feels awesome.

    Great questions!

Great! That's awesome that you are an adjunct. You could definitely pivot with your background, have to present this in the right way no your resume for corporate and showing the transferable skills.
