Seeking Advice on Landing My First Role in the U.S

Hello Fairygodboss Community,

I’ve recently graduated with a Master’s in Business Analytics with a concentration in Financial Analytics. I also hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in Finance. Through my education and a few internships in related fields, I’ve built a strong foundation in analytics, financial modeling, and business strategy.

As an international student, I am now looking to secure my first full-time role in the U.S. I’m particularly interested in entry-level opportunities as a junior business analyst, junior financial analyst, or in category management.

I would love to hear your advice on which companies are great for entry-level roles in these areas and how I can strengthen my resume or skill set given my limited full-time experience. If there are specific strategies or skills that can help me stand out in the job market, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.

Thank you in advance for your guidance and support as I navigate this transition.

Given your status, this is not going to make you an attractive candidate for employment int he U.S. unless you possess a skill, knowledge, etc. that is not easily found in a candidate. Entry level is not it.

What did you learn from your internships and why are you not able to stay with one of those firms?

Start looking at firms lie PwC, Ernst and Young, KPMG, IBM, and similar companies whose businesses thrive on these skills and consider if you need a work type visa and/or sponsorship. You may be surprised at the opportunities. Pick your firms, research, and then start contacting for opportunities. Create a profile on LinkedIn (if you don't have one) and start networking.
