I just had to get this out of my chest. Recently, some of my tasks at work was taken and given to my colleague who is younger and currently a law student, as instructed by my boss. I having nothing against this colleague since she's really a nice co-worker. What upsets me is my boss who belittles my skills. Even if she doesn't say it, i feel as if my boss see me as a mediocre employee, sometimes even less than that in the way and the words that she speaks to me. I know I'm not a law student but i know my capabilities. I have been in the work force for 16 years so i think i know what i can and cannot do. Just like what i read in the article, " You keep quiet since your family's needs and insurance is on the line". Since we are still in a pandemic and i still have a current loan being paid, i cannot go look for another job.
Like the saying goes, " Go where you are celebrated and not where you are tolerated". This is very applicable to me since i feel devalued, and unappreciated. Does anyone feel like this? Some advice please, to keep me motivated at work.
