Reflections from the Virtual Career Fair for Women in Sales & Marketing
Last week, I attended the Fairygodboss Virtual Career Fair for Women in Sales & Marketing—an insightful experience filled with conversations with recruiters and hiring managers. While I am not the target candidate for the roles featured, I found the event valuable for networking because you never know where a connection might lead.
I also saw this as an opportunity to gather information on internships, step-up programs, and early-career roles that I can share with Saint Peter’s University Career Services, where I serve as an Advisory Board Member. Paying it forward and supporting the next generation of talent is important to me.
Some key takeaways from my conversations:
• Many companies are actively hiring for Sales & Marketing roles, including entry-level positions and internships.
• Several recruiters emphasized the importance of networking—not just for immediate job opportunities but for long-term career growth.
• Some companies have early-career development programs designed to help women transition into corporate roles.
It was great to speak with representatives from:
• Konica Minolta Business Solutions
• Sunrun
• Sonepar USA (including subsidiaries Capital Electric, Codale Electric Supply, and Springfield Electric)
• NAVEX
• Achieve
• Crawford Electric Supply
If you attended, I’d love to hear about your experience.
• What were your biggest takeaways?
• Did you make any meaningful connections?
• What advice would you give to others attending virtual career fairs?
For those still searching, I know how difficult the job market can be, and I want to acknowledge the persistence and resilience it takes to keep going. Sometimes, the right opportunity takes time—but each connection, each conversation, and each step forward matters.
Let’s support and uplift one another. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
