    At this point, more like stupid people running things.

    I would agree there are inept people everywhere. I've been in corporate and government for all of my working life and have seen a lot of people who have no clue what they are doing. Poor leadership who have never lead, or managed or people hired who cannot do the job, but the inept leaders think they can.

    From the very top down. Unfortunately the ones who know the systems are disregarded by egotistical morons..from the VERY top down.

    Yes. I’ve worked in private industry before working in the government. While I think both have problem employees, I think the difference with the government is the incompetent, problem employees in the government stick around because it’s so difficult to fire them. Some agencies also have a promotion process that makes its challenging to not promote someone. One of my managers told me that she would have to complete more paperwork to justify why somebody shouldn’t be promoted rather than why they should.
