I've been a regular at this site for years. Used to check in and post several times a day. Now I barely come once a week due to all the spam. I spend more time flagging messages than actively engaging with people. If there's another site that offers discussion and support without spam (and no, LinkedIn isn't it) I'd appreciate some alternatives.

I remember when I first used FGB and it was all orig content and real human interaction (unless I was just duped easier then) Idk it seems like this is how they operate, a community based website, starts out totally organically then some corp sees the opportunity to mine some serious data, buys up the trademark, and takes it over. Orig posters get ticked off, and leave to start their own, lets see what happens, Barb! Start your own community for women's employment empowerment and enjoyment of each others input!

    Im in!

I just tried to add a comment and my comment violated community guidelines which I can assure you, my comment did not violate any community guideline.

Interesting - let's see if this comment will post

So your comment violates community guidelines but wall to wall spammers and scammers don't?!

let's see if i can add my comment as a reply to a comment - I was trying to say that FGB did a pretty good job with community management up until a year or so after the merger (maybe a bit longer), but recently, their community monitoring efforts have been lacking.

I used to come to the site a few times a day and I'm sure you (Joan) visit as much or more than I did, but over the last few months, I've gotten tried of sifting through the spam.

Yes - I hadn't been here in weeks (months?) - it was so frustrating with all the spammer and scammers.

When I came back and made this post, it looks like nothing has changed.

Agree with you about the timing.

It's wild that a relevant comment supposedly violated the guidelines. I kid you not; a day or two ago, I saw an ad on this site for call girls in Mumbai. I would think that soliciting prostitution would violate community guidelines! But yes, if you can get an alternate site up and running, I would be interested in participating. I really liked this site until spam took over. Now it's hard to find the real posts among all the garbage ones. Thank you for letting us know.

Trying to add my original comment (see my comment below)

We should start our own site.

Will FGB allow me to add that piece of content?

  9. Barb Hansen

We should start our own site. I've built community site in the past and I can do it again.

I like, Kat below and Joan (the OP who is super active on this site), have enjoyed this site until resenting. So let's build our own.

Hi Barb I would love to join you as well I had a different username a while ago but I was blllked because I pointed out the spmm posts too much so the admins literally deleted my account.

Yeah its fallen hard. There used to be great advice and great women supporting women on here but there is spam, vague and unverified jobs or job seekers, and people who ask for advice and then cannot handle the response. Maybe they need to have more specific communities based on career level and verify the membership.
