Hello

everyone

I was wondering if anyone had advise on getting a receptionist job or banking job with no experience. If there is clarification or ways to grow in knowledge I would love to know. I want to get out of my current job for more stability.

    Hello!

To my knowledge, receptionist jobs are still relatively easy to obtain without experience. Although, a lot of companies use specific phone systems and it would help if you'd be familiar with how the system works.

My recommendation: If you find a company that's hiring for said position: learn what you can about the company. See if they have a website. Find the profile on LinkedIn. Call and ask what phone system they use (at my company we use Ring Central which is VoIP). Then learn about that system. Check out their website. Look for videos on YouTube or other channels.

When you go for the interview, you can honestly tell them you've never worked with their system. However, you learned what they use and have been studying about it.

    All the best!

You're thinking about this the right way — both of those roles are often about how you come across on first contact, not a long resume. For receptionist work, emphasize scheduling, phones, greeting people, and keeping things organized, even from a current job, volunteer work, or school. For banking, look first at teller and customer-service openings, and be ready to talk about being careful with details and handling money responsibly. Applying to smaller local offices and credit unions, and following up in person or by phone, can also help more than sending dozens of online applications into a pile.
