What is the salary range for a (remote) entry to mid-level Non-Tech Program Manager? Is it a good career path?

I have been searching online and the range seems to start in the mid to low $100,000s but the jobs I see online post a range starting at $50s-60s.

I'm unsure where you would find a remote entry-level PM job at $100K unless you had some serious credentials (PhD in an industry-specific discipline plus a PM certification and significant non-PM industry experience). Remote PM jobs would be more likely for the more generic or tech disciplines, so the numbers you see would be more appropriate there.

I'm a senior Program Manager in a niche field and I just barely tip past $100. Variability is all over the place and depends on industry, specialized knowledge, and geographical location. That's such a generic term that it's not a good descriptor in terms of benchmarking unless you're using industry-specific sources for your data.

I saw some jobs on different job boards in various industries. Some seemed like my background would be a good match for. Some had salaries posted and others did not. When I did the search online for non-tech PM salary range I was surprised. It does seem like a generic title. Wonder if a little bit of experience can help you leverage into a better salary.

Experience, the more directly relevant the better, should always translate into higher salary. I have an amazing employee with an over-the-top educational background but not much real-world experience who is being underpaid for what she brings to the table. I've fought with HR over it to no avail. I do everything in my power to keep her happy so she'll stay long enough for me to get her certified and promoted.

I think the salary range you are seeing when you researched jobs is for tech (even if you aren't doing a search for tech). I'm a technical program manager and I keep a pretty close eye on what the salaries in my field. I haven't seen entry level technical program manager roles paying above the range you are talking about and I definitely haven't seen program managers in non-technical industries make that. The salaries for the job postings you are seeing seem much closer to what I'd expect that role to pay unless it's in a very specialized field.

That is what I was wondering which is why I posted on here. I was trying to get a better idea of what the salary range for a Non-Tech PM is.

I wish ALL jobs posted a range. I have a call back for a second interview for a PM position and despite my research, I still don't know what the salary is and if they made me an offer I have no idea what would be fair.

I am not in the beginning of my career, I would say I am more mid- associate level. Although I have managed projects and programs I never had the title of PM. I was just in a management position. I am trying to level up and figure out what a good career path is.
