What do you do when you're having a bad day...

Bad work days are bound to happen. Bad personal days happen too. When they are one in the same, what do you do to get by? Today has been one of those days. Usually I tend to want to eat junk or blast music. Would love some new suggestions for when, despite everything going, I still have work to do, conference calls, etc and can't cry all day! lol I can't be the only one!

I listen to Vitamin String Quartet. They play covers of popular songs. Sometimes it just takes the ridiculousness of a cello playing Taylor Swift to calm me down and remind me that there are nice things in this world. That... or I listen to Hamilton.

Ugh! I'm so sorry... 2018, in general, was a bad YEAR for me. Lots of bad personal days for me! What got me through was an amazing workout routine that cleared my mind and kept me focused on the positive. I also found a community of women within my workouts (Pure Barre plug) that was incredible and inspiring.

Man, bad days are never an idea day for anyone at all. But, there is always a positive you can take away from a bad day. I do a little reflection and ask myself, " why am I in this space?", "what can I do to get out of this space" and or " What is this space teaching me" Most of the time I am in that space because I am burnt out and need to take a day or two off from work, or I have been avoiding things that I consider to be self-care. Taking that break to reflect and just be with myself typically helps me get to a place where I am refocused and relaxed to just start over and get back in to the groove of things. Hope that helps :)

If I can, I step away and take a walk outside. Just leaving the space for a few minutes can be really helpful. Hope tomorrow is a better one!

I call someone I haven’t talked to in a while. It gets my mind off of a bad day and also pushes me to catch-up. Hope you’re having a better day today!

Sorry you're having one of those days! I reach out to a friend or family member to vent, take a mid-day walk, finish out the day and then go home, order in and veg out for the rest of the night. Comfort at it's finest!

Having one those days are a real bummer :/ For me when having a terrible morning and still a full day ahead of me I call a loved one to either vent to or for them to calm me down. Someone who puts me at ease. Then to make myself feel better I'll usually treat myself no matter the cost. Get that high calorie calzone from the pizza place I walk past on my commute that I wouldn't normally let myself indulge in, or a cupcake from the sweet shop downstairs. Get it delivered if you're too busy. Treat yourself, you deserve it.

I like to go for a walk, drink a little herbal tea (no caffeine — it tends to ratchet the emotions up if I'm already worked out) and vent to a friend. Then, I settle back in and work through it.

So sorry that you’re feeling this way. I usually tell myself it’s okay to take a half hour or so to work through what I’m feeling, calm down, and give myself a break. Sometimes I sit in my car and just play some relaxation music. Usually that will get me back into work mode. Sometimes though I just need to cry. So I do. Then I fix my makeup and tell myself to not let the little things get to me. A little mini pep talk. Figure out what you can do to let out that stress, bad feelings, or anxiety and that will allow you to let it go and move on. *hugs*
