It's been awhile..

I read some of the article, not all of the article was shown. It's been awhile since I last worked outside of the home. I have spent most of my life taking care of, or staying close to home for various reasons. I did a lot of child care for my sister, and since my mother never drove, I was her chauffeur, to work or wherever she needed to go. My dad had a stroke in 2009, and I was his caregiver, until he passed away. Both of my parents have passed, and trying to get a job has been an odd journey. The few responses I got from employers : based on my experience, part-time, and no more than 15-20 hours a week, if at all . How could I ever pay a bill . My resume, if you can call it that, maybe be dusty, but I'm not useless, and the assessment of part-time, was very upsetting.I got the impression they didn't want me to apply or work for them. Target's response, and Walgreen's, were just as upsetting .

Have you considered a career in healthcare? There are a number of ancillary staff positions you'd be qualified for such as transporter/orderly, food service worker, housekeeper, patient relations rep, greeter, customer service rep, or medical records clerk. Administrative support (unit clerk/secretary) is also an option; provided that you could type at least 30/35 wpm and have some knowledge of word processing software. If you are interested in clinical support, some hospitals and nursing homes offer training to become nursing aides, home health aides, and personal care attendants. I hope I've been helpful. Good luck!
