Career change

I was a data analyst at my former job and I've been unemployed since Nov. 2019. I don't think data analytics is for me but unfortunately it's the only technical experience I have on my resume. I've tried to obtain A+ certification but I failed twice and never tried again. I'm not a strong test taker. I second guess myself all the time. I'm interested in cloud networking. The job market has been brutal. I've been "ghosted" by recruiters and/or I don't receive a response from my cold emails. I receive rejection emails almost every week from job applications. Job hunting can be hard on your mental and I'm on the edge of having a breakdown. My question is how do I persuade recruiters/potential employers to give me a chance as a entry level helpdesk technician without certifications?

Career transitions can be tough, but it sounds like you've got an idea of what you'd like to be doing! I recently started reading a book called What Color is Your Parachute, which has great insights on how to approach your career search - focusing on who you are as a person, rather than what jobs you've already had. It also has some great statistics around some of the drawbacks of the traditional job search approach. I haven't completed all of the exercises just yet, but so far it's been a really eye opening book!

Nialia, I can appreciate how hard it is moving from one career to another. I've been looking everywhere for extra income opportunities. My cousin told me about skillshare where you can make money teaching classes and there's a lot of opportunities I've seen, through this company called rat race rebellion. I dis score a telecommuting job from their resource links at lionbridge. But they post a lot of jobs. It could be something you could look into as well. : ).

First of all - give yourself a break! If you're not enjoying data analytics then use this time to upskill and look into other areas that interest you. Have you considered udemy courses at all? They're cost effective great for upskilling and you can go at your own pace. Shows employers that you're willing to invest in yourself and learn new things. As you're technically adept, have you considered specializing in a specific area in cloud networking? It's a large field and there's all types of areas you could specialize in.
