I need honest advice for future women in tech in this post DEI world.

I know we are all really struggling to make sense of the recent administration change and a post DEI US. I figured I would bring this up here. What would you all tell young females in Tech to motivate them and protect them? It feels a little hopeless lately.

It can be very hard when you feel isolated. There are wonderful groups you can join- like the EDUCAUSE Women in Technology Community Group. We have monthly meetings with professional development online. All free and easy to join in. https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12404712/

I hear you, it can definitely feel overwhelming navigating the tech industry as a woman, especially in these times. But there are so many strong women paving the way!

Here are a few thoughts to keep you motivated:

→ Find your allies! Organizations like AnitaB.org are incredible resources for women in tech. They offer support, networking opportunities, and advocacy.

→ Network and connect with other women (and allies) in tech. Share your experiences, support each other, and build a strong community.

→ Don't be afraid to speak your mind! Your voice matters. Keep advocating for yourself and others.

→ Remember, you are capable and deserving. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

It might feel tough right now, but there are so many amazing women in tech and other industries making a difference. Keep your head up, keep pushing forward, and know that you're not alone.

Here are some additional resources that you might find helpful. You don't need to be a member, sometimes simply following their LinkedIn page and engaging with their posts will lead you to find the women you want to reach out to network:

    ✪ AnitaB.org

✪ National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT)

    ✪ Women in Technology (WIT)

DEI will never totally be gone. The progressive and forward thinking companies will do it on their own because it’s the right thing to do. The pendulum will swing until we find a middle ground. Remember, half of the country believes in the idea of DEI, they may not want it mandated.
