    I started out with an entry level job processing donations. I had a wonderful boss who became a mentor and has helped recommend for jobs at other organizations. I've now spent 20+ years in the field and my focus has been on working with donor databases. Fundraisers in a community really get to know each other so networking and not burning bridges is essential. I would look for an entry level position and try to look for an organization that will help support you in professional development.
