Has anyone in HR worked a role that is exclusively focused on Employee Relations?

Has anyone in HR worked a role that is exclusively focused on Employee Relations? What did you like and what did you not like? I am interviewing with an organization that uses a ticketing system and this role would mainly be doing investigations (they said heavy hitters are attendance and and entering accurate hours for billing). I very much want, and to an extent, need to leave my current employer. I really enjoyed those that I have met in the interview process thus far. I am just worried I may not love the transition from HRG roles to just Employee Relations. This role is also 100% remote. Do you feel fully remote roles can hinder the development of meaningful relationships and/or affect the impact HR has to an organization? Thanks for your feedback!
