I need some input on this. I started a new job in Sept, which I really like and had a good 90 review. My supervisor has been having health issues basically since day 1 and 3 weeks ago announced that she was going on medical leave for at least a week and hopefully would be back in the office or at least remote after that. While, it is going to be longer and we had a zoom of the committee I lead (I work for a non-profit) on Thurs nite. She is the zoom owner and when I reviewed the transcript of the meeting she sent me, it appears that she did not close down the meeting and she recorded a call with her dr. I immediately deleted that part of the conversation and I was the only one on the email. My question is, do I mention it or not. TIA for your input

I would let her know via email or phone, just in case the transcript is sent to anyone else.

If you were the only one on the email and deleted it, I would say no don't mention it. Everyone makes mistakes and I would only mention it if it happened again.

Yes, kindly mention it and let them know you deleted it. I would want to know as well.

I would inform her as well that the transcript included her call with her doctor, but you didn't read further and deleted the transcript. I would do this as a brief call rather than an email.

Thank you all. I called my boss. She was embarrassed, but appreciated that I let her know. She was concerned that not share with anyone else, and I said Of course that goes without saying

Thank you for the update. I'm glad it all worked out.

Aw you did the right thing and I am sure she really appreciated it. I know I would.

    She's lucky to have you.

Congratulations on being professional and caring - this speaks volume of your integrity and ethics.

Let her know right away. She needs to know this occurred and hopefully help her to remember to make sure all is turned off before moving to private business.

I am sure she will have a range of emotions, but if it were me, I would be very grateful and thank you for your integrity and honesty.

As someone with chronic illness that needs accommodations, is super refreshing to find sensitive and caring people at work. You did great just erasing it and respecting her privacy and I think if you mention it, she will probably feel good that she has someone so caring in her team.

Yes, you mention it. Do let her know that she needs to quit the application or else it continues to record. Let her know that you did not listen to the recording and that you suggest she delete it as well. Wish her good health in that conversation and ask her how you can support her through things.

I would absolutely tell her. She could disclose damaging health info. Next time it could be a call that gets her in legal trouble.

Also be sure to tell her that you did not listen to the call. She will really appreciate all of this.

No do not mention it. What value would it be to mention it? Forget about it. Not your concern.

Bad advice, doing the right thing is doing the right thing.

I agree it probably needs to be mentioned just in case anyone else on the committee has access. You don't want her health information to be used by someone else.

Maybe just a reminder that meetings need to be shut down and mention that you did delete everything after the official meeting closed.
