Usually within 6 months but I usually stay another year and a half to avoid looking like a job jumper.

Within a week. It was a race to see if I could find a new gig before they laid me off

They won. I can joke about it now but it wasn’t funny at the time. It didn’t help going from a progressive culture in terms of both the company and department.

It can be immediate or take time. Last time I started a job that ended up not being the right one for me, it was a gradual realization but it was less than 6 months for it to sink in. It was just unfortunate that it took forever to land elsewhere (including 3 months of unemployment).

In the first week. Still there several years later because pay and benefits are excellent.

One job the same day as I was being onboarded. Then again a couple of days later, but I stayed for 5 miserable years cos I guess that's what my destiny wanted me to go through because I tried hard internally and externally and couldn't find another job. Even when I left, I still didn't have another job waiting, but I was done mentally, emotionally and physically...

I left once after one week when the job I got the job I really wanted. I'm a bit ashamed to say I ghosted them.

I had one new hire texting on her very first day when I was training her. She ghosted us the next day.

Within a month. Gave the culture a second and a third chance. It was not for me.

3 days. Went to work for a Doctor, Family Practice. We had a minor surgery, and during it, I said a ugh softly and coughed. I was wearing a surgical mask, gown, gloves and I did turn away from site. The Dr. Chewed me out good in front of the patient. I said sorry, I didn't mean to make such a sound as an exclamation/cough. Next day, Dr.'s wife (she did the reception work) made a mistake, and after Dr griped about it, she blamed me for the incident. Got reamed again. 3rd day, I went in and he got upset that I got there 15 min early, before he got there. When he finished his sentence, I told him that we weren't a good match to work together and I quit. He asked me to finish the day. I told him absolutely not. And he could send my pay for 2 days to my home address, which I had given to his wife and it was on my application/resume. I left. I heard later he was considered a real AH.

When I was younger I got to quit a job in the first week. The environment was horrible, you couldn’t breathe without the boss having a problem with that. He wanted to control even the employees going to lunch separate because he didn’t wanted friendships in the office and had cameras everywhere. I knew I couldn’t deal with that toxicity and left. Never used it in my resume.

I knew in the first three hours, but stayed 6 months. I went to work for a management group and they assigned three clients to me. Normally you manage one or two, but I was told I had so much experience that it would be fine. The position was fully remote but they required to know every single minute I was working. In addition to working all day, I also had meetings conducted by Zoom in the evenings two or three times a week. It was a salaried position. I was very overworked and asked my supervisor for advice to catch up, she told me that this was great timing because the next week was Thanksgiving and the holiday would give me two extra days to catch up. I didn’t work on the holiday. I quit the following February.

At one job, I knew the first day. I never stopped my job search. It took me almost a year to find another position but I wasn't wrong about my first instinct.
