Why are corporate jobs so brutal? Unqualified managers who have never done the jobs they are managing telling you how to do your job when you are certified in the field (they aren’t). Then they give you a negative review when you’ve been doing your job correctly, are dedicated, always follow up, respond to emails timely, mentor others, and care about optics. I enjoy and am passionate about my work. But I encounter similar scenarios at every company. I’m direct yet professional but all managers seem to prefer “yes” people because it strokes their ego. Ugh!
