Some good news to share!

Some good news to share!

I've been looking for a new job for awhile, more urgently for the last review 4 months ago. I felt I was being pushed out and have been increasingly unhappy. A number of older workers in other areas have been laid off due to budget cuts, and I didn't want to be one of them. Fortunately, I landed a new position and gave my notice last week. It's a step up in title, pay and responsibility in a growing program, so I'm looking forward to it. I even got an extra 1.50 an hour just by asking and advocating for myself! My total raise is about 17%, which is huge when you know how low pay generally is for state workers. I also get to keep all my vacation, sick leave and pension benefits in place rather than starting from zero at a new company.

I know the job market is terrible and this job search has been crazy. I've dealt with fake jobs, scammers, a first interview done by AI, and lots of frustration and disappointment. Good luck to everyone that is still searching and I hope you can find a job worthy of your awesomeness!

Congrats!!!Thanks for sharing good news! I hope I can also share something one day, the job market is a bad one for those too young to retire but too “experienced” for a new mid level job.

Honestly, I have no idea. I applied to jobs I was well qualified for, customized my resume & cover letter, looked at multiple job boards and heard nothing beyond a few canned rejections. Maybe it was adjusting my expectations that helped, or doing a lot of manifestation/visualization about getting a job. I'll be in the office 5 days a week rather than fully remote (which is ideal) but it's a new position that I can make my own. It's possible things will change once I'm in the job for awhile. Right now, moving on from a job where I was burnt out, underpaid and very unappreciated to make a fresh start is key. I wish everyone luck in their searches.

News can be seen as a flow of information that may shape how people understand events, trends, and shifting situations across the world, often carrying a sense of possibility rather than absolute certainty, as reports can evolve with new details over time. It might influence opinions, decisions, and conversations in ways that are not always predictable, especially in fast-moving digital spaces where voices, including terms connected with catturd x , may gain attention and spark debate. The impact of news could vary from person to person, depending on perspective, timing, and context, leaving room for interpretation and change. In many cases, updates may open chances for awareness, discussion, or caution instead of fixed conclusions.
