I'm a Nurse Practitioner... I make over $100K and I highly recommend registered nurses to go back to school.

First, I highly recommend registered nurses to get their masters. I make more money, my hours are more flexible, and I basically function much more as a physician. As an NP, I’m normally the one making decisions, prescribing medications, giving orders or directions to the nurses. My depth of thinking is generally deeper as an NP just due to further education and understanding. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2017), the median annual salary for a nurse practitioner is $103,880 and the median annual salary for a registered nurse is only $70,000. Go back to school!

I've always wanted to say, "I save lives" for a living. Nurses and closet heroes.

I’m a RN and will graduate from my MSN, FNP program in 7 months. Any recommendations for studying for the national board exam, applying for jobs, and specialities to look into? TIA!

Studying to be a nurse right now... The thought of going back to school sounds awful. But maybe that's because I'm not even a registered nurse yet.

I wanted to be a nurse until I realized I couldn't look at needles. The thought of saving lives counts though, right?

I chose the wrong profession.

Interesting! But but going back to school also costs money...

Yes, but if you're making over $30k more a year, you've got a larger cushion to pay off your debt (if you have debt).
