I have been looking for a job since January. I thought that I had the last position I applied for. Three interviews and testing just got the email. There are better-suited candidates for the role. I am 62 and seriously, don't look it. My resume is good and doesn't show my age. I try so hard to keep up the good faith and pursuit. Hundreds of applications. I seriously just think that right now, I need to not be alone in this. Thank you for reading this and being supportive.

You are so not alone. Absolutely a horrible job market. I'm hoping that things improve fast. I just don't know what it's going to take to turn things around.

You are absolutely not alone in this! I am 56 and I do not look 56,not that it even matters but it kind of does. I have a strong resume. I have submitted hundreds of applications. It's tough out there. Don't give up. I am not giving up and I intend to find a job that is good.. I do believe ageism is real but I also know that there are many people out there who are still working and plan to be working for some time. That's the case for me. Don't give up! You are not alone.

I hear you and ? you. You are definitely not alone — I’ve been in your shoes.

Sounds to me like you are doing all the right things. Give yourself a pat on the back and keep forging ahead.

As others have mentioned, personal connections and networking might be helpful.
