Finally, after almost seven months, I received an offer for a short-term contract that could be turned into a permanent hire. However, I have two other incredible opportunities on the burner as well. It'll probably take some time to get set up; what if one of the 2 other ones moves to an offer? I'd feel bad to change after committing. Does anyone have experienced something like this scenario?

Do what you need to do to better your situation, don't worry about feeling bad for the company. Trust me they do not feel bad if they change their mind.

    You do YOU!!
If something better comes up, take it.

In my previous role, the organization refused to let me stay FT despite accolades from them. I had insurance (long story) so when an opportunity presented itself 2w from their desired start, I waited a week to give notice as that would pit me to day 2 of month and I KNEW I had Insurance to EOM if I stayed. I could have said something on xx/1, but playing it safe.

I was afraid if I said anything xx/26 when offially offered, I had a fear that I'd be let go.

I told current organization 'sorry for not two weeks, I had a mandatory start ".

I wasn't sorry! Lol. My supervisor was totally understanding. But even if she wasn't, too bad!

I always focus on the reality and nor the what ifs. There is nothing wrong with accepting a ft offer if it comes. Surely in this day and age the company understands that a shirt term contract position is trumped by a ft permanent position.
