I just saw an ad on Indeed for an Exec Admin Asst for FT 8-5 am only 48k-58k? Less than 10 years ago I was making 90k ( not in NYC either) and with less stress as this JD notes it is stressful position and one mistake is not acceptable ? (??‍♀️)

Unfortunately, salaries on positions have decreased. There has been a lot of chatter about the salaries being lower over the last year on job postings (i.e. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) I usually take a look at salary.com to spot check industry salaries if I am questioning the salary posted on the job posting. I guess you will never know unless you get an actual interview to be able to discuss with the HR representative. E!

Yes, this job market has employers attracting highly skilled and educated workers and offering very low pay because everyone needs to eat in the meantime while they wait for things to turn around. Sad but true.

I can’t speak to exec assistant salaries, but there’s not enough money in the world for me to apply to a job where they say even 1 mistake is unacceptable. If you work in an ultra high stakes field where a mistake could be disastrous, you put processes in place to prevent them: double checks, fail safes, etc… That takes time and money of course, and it’s much easier to blame people for being human.
