I have an interview tomorrow and due to a high fever over the weekend, broke out in cold sores on my face. I don't know how long they'll last and while I'm feeling better, they are taking a long time to go away. Does anyone have any recommendation as cover up isn't working and with this job market, I don't want to cancel and wouldn't know how long to postpone. I'd appreciate your advice! Does anyone have any quick fixes!!

Agree go get coverup. You could say I apologize I’m still getting over a cold, but I’m not contagious. If you break the ice maybe the cold sores won’t stand out. But like another poster said go see a makeup specialist to get help with foundation and coverup. It will be a temporary situation and you will heal soon!

I agree with the tips about beauty counters and cover up, however, if the cold sores are open sores, do not put anything on them (avoid infecting them). You can call your doctor/ urgent care to see if they have advice. (I'm not a doctor, but OTC items like Abreva can help with pain/healing. Do you need meds too?)

Break the ice, let them know you're not contagious and brought a mask just in case. I had something like this happen, though the cold sores were almost healed and I also made sure the side of my face that had more sores was slightly turned away from them.

    Good luck!
