I have been trying to share individual articles with colleagues on a one-on-one personal basis. I find that for me and my team, the more casual the conversation the easier it is to send these over. I'll send over an individual article, ideally one that has some connection to an interest that person might have like sending a bookworm a list of great books written by Black authors. when I send them over, I also try to highlight what I think they would like about the article so that they understand I made a personal choice to send it to them and that I am not just sending the same article to everyone.

Thank you so much for sharing! What's one of the most valuable things you learned from these resources?

Honestly, I think the lesson I have been learning over the past several months, and that these resources continue to confirm for me, is that so much of American culture is centered away from black people and that in doing so we have done ourselves a great disservice as a culture. I believe that as a white woman, it is my responsibility to be very intentional in including Black creators in my entertainment, supporting Black professionals, and continuing to educate myself on the true history and current flight of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.

Yes, intention matters so much. The 1619 project podcast taught me so much about how our culture is shaped by the Black community. I definitely recommend it.
