Beating the Sunday Scaries: Let’s Talk About It

We've all felt a bout of the Sunday Scaries (anticipatory anxiety about the weekend melting away + the new workweek setting in).

My go-to cure: a calming face mask + a quick peek at my calendar. Knowing what’s coming up at work helps me feel grounded, more prepared—and I always add in something fun to look forward to midweek like getting takeout from my fav restaurant or reconnecting with friends!

What’s your Sunday Scaries survival trick?

My Sunday Scaries is truly Monday since I work Tuesday through Saturday, however, worrying about what has yet to come is worrying without merit since you may have a pleasant day after all the "anticipatory anxiety" thus having to worry or in your case - be anxious for no reason or two-folds- because there was no need or before and during. I enjoy practicing knowing that I will give my very best when the time arises but not beforehand. In the meantime, I will soak up my time, doing what makes me happy (stress-free) without letting the upcoming week steal my oasis. Enjoy your Sunday!

Love this! As Newt Scamander says, "Worrying means you suffer twice," (when perhaps there's no suffering on the horizon at all!).

Amazing level of organization and preparation here—no surprise that you’re a teacher haha!! I really like not waiting till the “morning of.” I have done that in the past. The stressful scurrying around in the morning is a surefire way to start my day off the wrong foot. Great advice! Thanks for sharing.
