I have been out of work for over a year now. I am finally heading into round 2 in interviews at 2 organizations. I also recently found out that I will be called for jury duty as of Aug 1. I know not to say anything now and continue with the interview process, but if I am so fortunate to be offered a position within the next month or 2, how and when should I mention jury duty?

Hello! Please read your jury duty documents, contact the courthouse and let them know your status. When i went thru this, i let everyone know w. I contacted my recruiter to let them know too.

If I lost out on something as jury duty, all would understand

    If they don't.....

I'm gone always be that person, honey speak up, and pray on it! Being out of work for over a year is gut turning and scary. As soon as you get yo badge or go to orientation let them know. They should not hold that against you. If they do, you know what comes next, thank goodness you dodged that bullet. Congrats though.....

Once you receive the job, alert your new boss and/or the talent acquisition rep who worked with you.

It should not have any impact on your new job. Though you may be able to postpone your jd to later.

Postpone it for a few months. It’s easy.

I've postponed jury duty at least two times.
