Do you know the saying, “if your next job doesn’t scare you, it is not big enough for you.” I am embarking on such a journey and a bit nervous, and I know the bar for this new job is high. Curious if people are generally nervous to start a new job (unless it is just me) and how do you deal with that nervousness/anxiety please. Thank you all so kindly!

Yes! I'm always nervous to start a new job.

Of course. It’s only human. I just saw a clip of the geriatric legends Maggie Smith and Judy Dench talking about first days and how they still find them tough.

And they’ve got over 100 years of experience between them!

    Definitely normal in my opinion.

My company was recently purchased by a different company and we will be transitioning eventually. It keeps getting postponed and the anxiety of when this will finally happen is just awful. I will have the same position and I am still absolutely terrified!

Wishing you good luck with your new job!

Definitely normal! Remind yourself that you are qualified AND learning new skills so you can have some grace for yourself. Setting 30-60-90 day "milestones" can be really helpful so you can see your progress on paper
