I took a contract job and left a full-time cushy job and loved it! Ended up going permanent and expanded my skills.

Built my own business and took control over when, where and how much I worked. Going on 5 years and I love, love love it. Make more $ and work less hours. My life is now a dream.

Quite a few years ago, I quit my clinical healthcare job (for family reasons) without an idea of what I was going to do next. Six to eight weeks later, I cold emailed a tech startup (in the medical field) pitching to them that they needed to hire me --- and they did.

They hired me for a lot less than my previous job and I made it work for as long as I could. That initial startup role, lead to the next startup job and then lead an amazing career.
