I really thought I could make changes.

I really thought I could make changes.

But, I refused to drink the KoolAid. Now I am unpopular. The cool kids (the senior executives) ignore me. I have lost any chance of being seen as valuable. But I was hurt at work and it was their fault, so I do not believe I will get fired. Being rejected has negatively impacted my work but trying so hard to get “in” with the BFF leaders has harmed my mental health. So now I just keep quiet and try to get by. What suggestions do you all have?

Workman's Comp claims always result in issues, as companies pay through the nose for the insurance and each claim increases their premiums. They have to "walk on eggshells," as any hint of retaliation could result in a lawsuit, only creating worse problems.

Word of advice: Senior executives are not your BFFs nor should they be. Keep things professional and let some time pass to show them that you can move on from your injury and return to being a productive employee. That will speak more volumes than anything else you can do.

Invest in your personal life and make your job "just a job" in your mind. Keeping your head down while looking for another job is a good strategy. Good luck!
