Have you ever accidentally applied for a job with your work email?

It can't just be me, right? I applied for a job in a browser where I was logged in under my personal email. My resume has my correct email. I know my email because it's literally my name (I bought my own domain ) but I somehow typed in my work email.

Clearly I should have taken a break before transitioning to job searching.

Please tell me I'm not the only person to do something this dumb.

I haven’t but I have accidentally used it for other personal emails. Keep an eye on your work email and just forward to your personal then delete it then delete the trash folder. By the time you leave your current employer can’t do a thing.

    Well, it was an accident.

Like I said, it wasn't on purpose and I realize it was dumb. Hence closing with "anything this dumb".

Yes. I just needed someone to say "this one time, I did <insert foolish thing done on accident>" so I can stop beating myself up about it.

you certainly are not. Do look to see if you can re-send a revised application. If you are applying to a bigger company check the ATS that they use and look for how to do this using google or their help page at the ATS company. Then there is no fear of this bouncing back to your companies email address. Mistakes happen...but I usually advise never to use the same browser for work as you do for non-work so that this never happens.

You are not dumb. Probably stressed for the same reasons you are applying for the job in the first place. It’s certainly not the end of the world. You can laugh when your current job is behind you.
