I started working for a large land development company a couple months ago where Im seeing more and more that leadership has this old school authoritarian style of managing staff that I feel is disrespectful and uncomfortable.
Leadership, which has members of all generations, demonstrates chronic aggressive and intimidating behaviors, excessive swearing, scolding, and humiliate staff in front of others. Also, they don't ask, they tell and expect you to drop everything without notice most of the time to either be somewhere or have a task completed same day.
I thought this style of managing was a thing of the baby boomer generation or the military, but here it is at this place. I dread looking for another job as it took many months to find this one. Im trying not to be too sensitive about this, but the approach is something that I find hard to deal with and never thought at my career level that Id be at an organization that treats staff like children. Any advice to navigate this situation?
