I started to apply for a job, realing towards the middle of a assessment test (their own) that it was a marketing tool. I was suppose to sign up for their website bidding. I stopped because I wasn't about to apply for a company that was going to do this. It is extremely unprofessional. I'm looking for a job, not ways to spend money on their account.

I'm not quite sure from your post what type of role you were applying but it sounds like you were going to have to pay to use their assessment tool? If so, yes, definitely agree, don't spend money. Try to connect yourself to a recruiter if you can in the industry you seek work. I was an IT recruiter and we had assessments we sent candidates but they did not pay for that, the company I worked for did. Hope that helps some.
