    I would look up job postings and start applying and also reach out to local companies that manage events (catering, wedding venues, party venues) to see if you can do any kind of work that would start developing your event management experience

    You might consider joining industry associations such as Meeting Professionals International (MPI) or the International Live Events Association (ILEA).

    Another idea is volunteering on an event planning committee to gain experience and expand your network.

    You could also attend industry events, webinars, and workshops to meet experienced professionals and learn from them—expanding your network in a new industry is essential.
