Bad Luck lately..

Bad Luck lately..

I feel like I have been in a horrible cloud of career bad luck lately!

My previous job was eliminated due to restructuring of the Executive Assistant positions within the company. I had come back to this place of employment after some time off and a recommendation from a friend. My boss was amazing, he was polite, down to earth and was grateful for everything.

Going back to my job prior-worked there for 9 mos. and the HR manager that I helped support and I did not get along, she was not understanding of my job duties, she constantly was undermining me-and even when I went to my main boss about her, she told me her hands are tied and she can't do anything.

My current job, I have been here 6 mo. I am miserable. I do not want to be here. The politeness has gone out the door. My current boss was sick for over a week, I dropped things off at her house for her, I communicated all week; she comes back this am and nothing. She is not talking to anyone. She is firing off emails left and right to do this and do that. I have been in my job 6 months and want out. The attitude and complete ungratefulness drives me nuts on a daily basis.

What are your thoughts. Would you stay and deal with this or would you move on?

I would honestly advise you to take a step back and think about what kind of job energises you. What kind of company culture motivates you and what kind of leader inspires you. Start looking for these gems in your current role. What you focus on grows and so sometimes we can get stuck in a negativity spiral. If you honestly can't find any of these gems in your current role, start thinking about what would be best for you!

Go full Professional and treat these people like grouchy customers until you find something else. Don't stay, but don't leave until you have something else lined up.

It sounds like you have your mind made up that you're miserable and want to leave and you want us to tell you to go for it. So go for it.

That being said, not sure what your relationship is with your boss, but what we're you expecting. She had to be out sick and now has to play catch up. You have no idea what is going on with her.

I would definitely stay until I have a great new job lined up. Nothing you've described is critical so I would continue to pay my bills, work diligently and find that great opportunity.
